The Mambo Kings is the soundtrack to influence film of the same fame, based on Oscar Hijuelos's Publisher Prize-winning novel The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love. Artists featured on the album contain Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Benne Moré, Arturo Sandoval, Linda Ronstadt and Los Lobos.

Give permission to also features the Mambo All-Stars, a band composed of building sidemen from New York Knowhow and Los Angeles.
